Hello my name is Milou, I am a youthful healthy 9 year old wire fox terrier looking for his adoptive family.

Around 2006 I was found stray in northern France and was taken in by a refuge. I spent several years there, living in a small kennel in outdoor temperatures, waiting to get out, they were overrun with dogs so it can take a long time. Finally I was adopted by a lovely older gentleman and went to live with him and his bichon.

That should be the happy end of this story. However, recently the gentleman fell ill, had to go to hospital and into a care home. So guess what - I was returned to the very same refuge. Some of the volunteers could remember me and were saddened to see me again.  They blogged about me and Terrier SOS in the UK decided to take me on.

So I am now fostered by a London family looking for my forever home.

I am playful, love my walks and catching the ball in the air, not so much into chasing it. I have been described as an athletic jumper I can jump high and into the car or on the sofa over the armrest. I am very affectionate, I seek cuddles and reassurance so I like being near humans. I can be a bit cowering sometimes, probably due to negative past experiences. I am a big sleeper & love cuddling up next to you on the sofa.

I got on well immediately with my foster sister also a wire fox terrier. We race around the garden and as I lived with the bichon they reckon I can live with one other dog, as well as older children.

Now I am waiting to hear from you, please share this page to increase my chances, somewhere out there is a permanent home & family for me. One last thing: I’m all up to date with my jabs, and I have a European pet passport - ready to join you!

PS: this blog was originally created for another dog, often strays in France are called Milou after Tintin’s dog. Milou 1 has been adopted and now lives in Brighton with a lovely family. Help Milou 2 too!

A dog has no use for fancy cars, big homes, or designer clothes. A water logged stick will do just fine. A dog doesn’t care if you’re rich or poor, clever or dull, smart or dumb. Give him your heart and he’ll give you his. How many people can you say that about? How many people can make you feel rare and pure and special? How many people can make you feel extraordinary?
